A letter from our Founder
Hi fellow-doglover,
Thanks for joining Doglyness and welcome to the next level in dog care. I'm very happy to have you here with me!
I am Anka Hana Sladoljev, Co-founder and CEO of Doglyness. My Co-founder Christina and I started Doglyness because we believe that dogs deserve better care, and our Planet deserves more respect.
Our mission is to create effective natural dog grooming products that embody respect for people, animals, and nature.
Let me tell you a story
I grew up with dogs, and in my teens, I preferred the company of canines over humans. Even the books I read were about dogs, and my Mom used to hide them because she thought my passion for dogs bordered on obsession. Dogs are not just my great passion; they are my way of life, and I can't imagine life without my furry companions.
My passion for grooming began 25 years ago with my first dog, a poodle Amadeus. I was not good at grooming, and in those days, it was hard to find someone to teach you. I struggled to achieve the perfect results I envisioned. I was a child, and my efforts fell far short of perfection, but even then, I knew that my path would lead me to where I am today.
When Hugo, my second poodle, entered my life, I promised him I would give him the care I didn't know to provide Amadeus. By then, I had learned much about coat care and grooming. With the internet era came videos where I could watch skilled groomers and learn from them. I spent hours mastering my brushing and grooming skills. Sometimes I stayed up all night in the bathroom where the light was the brightest grooming Hugo. I confess - I was a bit obsessed. My skills improved, but I knew something was missing. As a perfectionist, I wanted Hugo to have a healthier and shinier coat using better quality ingredients to be in his best overall condition.
Most pet care products I used back then contained toxic chemicals that gave an instant appearance of health. But I realized that while these products may clean the dog's coat and make it shiny, bouncy, and smooth, these short-term benefits came with long-term ill effects. Hugo was scratching, and his skin was always red and itchy. Those toxic chemicals can cause allergies, hormone imbalance, or cancer. Hugo deserved better, and I wanted the best for my dog.
How Doglyness was born
The idea for Doglyness was born when I realized the vast pet market didn't include a single pet brand that was fully certified organic, vegan, or with a full INCI LIST. And I wanted to know what I was putting on my dog and into his bloodstream.
Christina, my co-founder, was determined to find a plastic-free solution for the product bottles. After more than a year of searching, we discovered bottles made of raw sugar cane (veganbottle®) that are entirely biodegradable and compostable. Doglyness was born, and Christina and I raised the brand with the same passion we have for dogs and the Planet.
I believe all dogs deserve the best care from only the best all-natural products. And it's not necessary to destroy the environment in the process.
All dogs are beautiful by nature, and I want to make sure their natural beauty shines. Natural, non-toxic products are not only better for your dog's coat and skin, but they are fundamental for a long, happy, and healthy life. That's why we bring to you Doglyness.
